Circus a Success

We attended the Communications Council's Circus - Festival of Commercial Creativity on Wednesday and what a great event it was - and well attended too. The day featured some terrific speakers, including:

Jeffrey Cole from the USC's Center for the Digital Future did a deep dive into understanding teenagers' habits in the digital world (now I know it's normal that 15 year olds don't use email!)

Jess Greenwood, Director at Contagious Insider gave a great analysis of some of the better advertising going around.

Josh Spear, marketing strategist and Founder of Undercurrent explored some of the less well know areas of the digital world that perhaps help drive innovation and trends.

Erik Vervroegen, ECD at Gooby's ran though a book of great work and revealed some of the process that goes into turning raw creative ideas into award winning advertising.

And Charles Wigley Chairman BBH Asia challenged marketers and agencies to find new approaches and processes for developing great ads which avoid the 'sameness' that characterises so much advertising across so many categories.

Next year's Circus will be bigger and even better, no doubt.
